Was watching a movie, The Galdiator and saw how good Russell Crowe looks in that moustache which inspired me to write this. Alike glasses, a moustache acts like an accessory for the face. Wearing facial hair can often improve a face shape by accenting strong facial features or masking and balancing  irregularities.

One of the most famous celebrity with the moustache is Johnny Depp. The downturn moustache is known as a Fu-manchu moustache which is his signature intruiging look. And how can we forget him in his long moustache in Pirates of the Carribean?

Ashton Kutcher in this photo has a Full Beard. The face is covered at the – upper lip, chin and sides. Current trends in full-beard styles are closely-trimmed and often groomed with hard angles or patterns to accentuate the face. Ashton suits this look because his full length moustache nicely framed his broad jawline and balances his short hair style.

Want to be subtle? Try a Soul Patch (or Small Beard) that is characterized by its confinement to the area just below the lower lip. It has been seen trimmed short, or grown long and groomed into varied shapes. Modern versions are often trimmed short and narrow.

Before you start growing a moustache. Consider the density of the hair, your hair style and whether you look sleek in it on just plain messy.

Finally! I found a matching coloured nail polish! Copper! I am a rather tan person and this colour suits me best.

Nail polish is a accessory to the body. Match a complimentary nail colour to that of your dress. For instance, if you are wearing a champagne dress, you can opt for a copper nail polish for sophistication. Both colours have a warm yellow tone. Remember to visit your manicurist regularly for that trim and polish. Never go out with chipped nails and fading polish. If you have nail polish on the fingers, do make the effort to fill up the toe nails as well.

If you do apply nail polish very often, do check for fungus on your fingers and toenails after removing your polish. Preferbably let your nails breathe once in a while by going “naked” by doing only nail buffing in order to prevent them from turning yellow.

Do not bite your nails in front of everyone. It shows that you are nervous or simply bad hygiene.

When age catches on there are plenty of things to consider – about our body as a whole. To revive our glowing skin and learning to conceal the areas that were once tender looking and youthful.

Simple things to do to make yourself look younger and modest:

For the face…

1) Conceal fine lines around the eyes, forehead and lips. A cream one would conceal best.

2) Fill in the eyebrows because they will become lighter with age.

3) A (must!) Eyeliner for the droppy lips. A dark brown liner is a sure win.

4) Lipstick for a fresh look. No frosty colours please.

5) A natural looking blusher to brighten the skin.

For the body…

1) Wear long sleeves to cover flabby arms. A jacket or a shawl is good.

2) Have a piece of accessory – necklace or scarf as a form of distraction for the wrinkling neck.

3) Do not wear skirts that are shorter than 2 inches above your knees please.

4) Avoid wear spandex. Wear clothings with structure if you are a large size.

5) Wear the right fitting bra to give us the support we need!

Lipstick is a must have for women on-the-go. Some of the common mistakes made by women are: Thinking pink lipsticks suit all women; they just need at least 1 lipstick; anyone is suitable to use gloss.
Speaking from an Asian’s point of view, our culture is much adapted from the West. Many of our advertisements use blondies with pink lipsticks which gave us the perception that we look good in it. Yes, pink lipsticks looks fabulous if you have fair and pinkish skin but half the time when you turn to your friend, who are slightly tan, they look better in coral or brown lipstick colours.

Most women would buy more than 1 of shoes, so why not lipstick? It’s part of an accessory on the face. And you would not want to be seen wearing the same lipstick everywhere you go (unless it’s your signature look like Scarlett Johanssons’s signature red). Have at least 2 for special occasions. For instance, at work you can have a conservative natural lip colour. When it comes to party time, change it to a lipstick with slight frosting.

Last of all, not all women are suitable to apply gloss. If you have thick lips, you should stay away from them. Mature ladies  apply tons of gloss to make their lips to make them look valuptuous. Sorry, it would not work. It would only amplify that flaw. A trick that I learnt from a book is to apply a bit of white frosted shadow in the center of the lips emergency cases… when you want to look sexier in photos. It’s another science behind all that.

So depending on your culture, your need and your age, choose wisely before investing in a lipstick.

Qn: How do I get rid of dark eyes circles?

Ans: First question is to ask yourself how did you get those eye circles?

Dark eye circles are the formation of blue veins under the eye area. This would be more obvious if you missed a night’s sleep because of the amount of strain that you put them. If you have eye circles are most likely caused by the lack of oxygen supply to the lungs and body.

Other causes includes:

Aging. The thinning of skin around the eye area which makes the blue veins more obvious especially when we age.

Genetics. You will see that dark circles are more visible on people with fair skin.

Iron deficiency. Lack of iron might cause a bluish tint under the eyes.

Home remedies:

Some of the traditional remedies include putting chamomile tea bags (already soaked) eye area and putting cucumber or potatoe slices to cool your tired eyes.

Personally I would like to massage the eye area in a circular motion with eye gel to encourage lymphatic drainage and to prevent sagging lids. I would very much avoid eye cream that is too thick. Always try out the texture of the eye cream on the back of your hands first. The cream should be quickly absorbed into the skin.

Best thing to do? Let your body have sufficient rest. Play some soothing music and perhaps mediate before bed.

If you look online, there are many websites proclaim that you can steal the celebrity style by buying their earrings.  But you are unique… Always take a look the shape of your face first before investing in any expensive pair of earrings.

If you have a tiny face. Try not to overwhelm your face with large earrings. A medium size dangling earrings or some studs would look good on you. If you have a fuller face, you can go for bigger earrings that will balance your face shape. A few things to be aware of when selecting earrings: size, shape, material and colour for different occassion. Do not expect yourself to be wearing a chandelier earrings in the office and hoping nobody would notice them.

If you are only a beginner with accessories, you can invest in earrings with a matching necklace and bracelet. Fuss-free.

If you have big and sparkling eyes, by all means get yourself a pair for a girls night out! Celebrities such as Aishwarya Rai and Beyonce can definitely pull off this red carpet look.

Try experimenting wearing different sizes and shape of earrings and you will see what I mean! Have fun!

This is a common technique if you would like to want to lift droppy eyes or if you have small eyes. Draw the top and bottom liner without lining them together and blend the liner outwards with a shadow brush (I used a an angled brow brush). As for the shadow, I swept it outwards too to synchronised with the top liner =). Thanks Teresa for being my model!
